Welcome to this weeks PL INT review. We are finishing up our second “3 Games a week” week with some upsets. Also we only have 1 month to go until the new FIFA is released for Origin Access members.
Ragnarök FC the Giant killers?
Ragnarök had a tough start into the season, they played three out of the current top four in their first four games. They took some tough losses versus these teams. After that the started into a five games unbeaten series. Surprisingly one was a victory versus the last remaining top 4 team Venom FC. Jumping forward to the second half of the season. They had to face three of the top four teams again. At first, things looked like a repeat of the start of the season after a 1:3 loss to Legacy. But this time things would be different! They won 2:0 against the leaders Revival and held out to a draw against second placed Reborn. Big points for Ragnarök who got their revenge on Revival and Reborn. You could call them a giant killer if you want, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on them. Maybe they can start another unbeaten series towards the end of the season.
vs Symphony win without hitting the target!
Symphony managed to win in a rather curious way this week against Legacy. In a rather balanced game Symphony managed to win 1:0. Of course that doesn't sound curious at first but if you look closer you will find out that Symphony managed to win without hitting the target once. In all fairness, both teams only had two shots each but Legacy at least managed to get both of their shots on target. Symphony managed to win thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Legacy's Cerebassin. Legacy will have to improve their attack if they want to gain any points in the upcoming week. They will face first placed Revival and second placed Reborn. This will be the biggest week for Legacy this season!
Cerebsassin regrettably heads the ball into his own net, after a testing cross from the right hand side. This happened to be all Symphony needed to pick up all three points.
Revenge is sweet!
Perhaps regarded as the most inconsistent team in the league, Ukraine have pulled it out the bag once more. Having just about beaten league minnows Lex Artis 3-2 in their previous match, Ukraine were not exactly in the best place, with the prospect of Venom coming next, a team that they had lost 11-0 to in the previous fixture. With around 43 minutes gone in the first half, Ukraine were clearly frustrating Venom’s attackers, and looked dangerous on the counter. Just a reminder that at this same point in the previous fixture, Venom were already 7-0 up. With confidence brimming, Ukraine found the breakthrough in the 44th minute, and fired in a quick second goal just after the restart. Venom looked nowhere near as ruthless and clinical, and Ukraine took advantage of this, scoring another two in the 58th, and 74th minute respectively. As the stats showed, Ukraine deservedly won this game, with 100% shot accuracy, and also a slight dominance in possession. This was definitely a result nobody was expecting, not only because of Ukraine’s previous beating by Venom, but also due to the latter having one of the strongest defences in the league. Venom will need to pick up their slack if they want any chance of taking over the championship spot from Revival.
EdenHazard fires Ukraine 2-0 up just before halftime. He found himself wide open just outside the box, setting himself up for a perfectly timed half volley, giving Haitch no chance.
Title race heats up
With eight games to go, the race for the top four spots is very much on. Currently, in order, Revival, Reborn, Legacy and Venom have taken control of the top spots. Just behind Venom are Fusion who are just six points behind with a chance to close that gap due to having a game in hand. Symphony who occupy the seventh position are also close, with two games in hand and only nine points away from Venom, with a chance to cut that down to just three if they win those games. And with Revival still to play every one of the top four, there is still time for this title race to get ripped wide open. All the pressure is on the Dutch side to maintain their form, and with arguably the toughest run in from the top sides, they really cannot afford another slip up. Keep on the lookout for Legacy vs Revival, Venom vs Fusion and ReBorn vs Legacy in the upcoming GW. Three bumper matchups that will leave a huge impact on the title race. Remember to check the #livestreams channel on discord to get notified when games are LIVE.
Dementrox stamping his authority on the league
Dementrox aka Keukenrolle had quite an impact in every team he played so far. He left his first PL team Equality 05 mid june to join Revival for the first time. Keukenrolle caught the attention of League ONE side Entourage after a six month stint with Revival. After a short stay at Entourage Dementrox decided to join his old team Revival. Since then the PL INT definitely felt his presence as he was able to create a lot of goals with his assists. He is currently leading the assist leaderboard with eleven assists. One man especially will fear his presence. TideMood aka Red_Saman from Unshackled, he is currently the most dangerous midfielder of all time in the PL INT. He achieved 76 scorer points in 128 games. Keukenrolle is catching up to him very quickly with 73 scorer points in 38 games, which averages at around 1.92 scorer points per game. If Keukenrolle keeps his form he will be the all time leader in the next couple games. We will definitely keep an eye on Keukenrolle and his scorer points, we’ll keep you up to date!
We will release the weekly review every tuesday! We hope that you enjoyed this weeks PL INT review.
