TOTW: S22 | League INT 1 | Matchdays 11-14
Veröffentlicht am 26.Jan.2021 - Team of the Week PC von DasKaninchen - 1241 mal gelesen

To honor special performances in the International League, a TOTW will be posted regularly. The players chosen will be based on the match days of that week.

First and foremost I want to start this article about something important. Lately, teams are left excluded from the TOTW. The redaction and the writer of this article are aware of the situation and since people keep asking about the reason for being left out: if your captain does not fill in a match report for about a month (yes, this has happened), we can simply not include the team due to the 75% played rating. No, the effort of manually checking the results on the pages will not be taken. It is the responsibility of the captains, not ours. This is why certain teams and players do not appear, even when the opponent is at fault.

How is the TOTW determined

Goalkeeper

GK: REV-Lani

For the first time this season, REV-Lani makes it to the starting XI of the INT1 TOTW. The Slovenian goalkeeper almost doubled his clean sheet record from five to nine this season. It is a stunning result, three out of the four matches played were against teams standing - and even though they’re not in range, points-wise -  in the top five. With those teams now beaten, the road is clear to yet another league title. The question now is, how many clean sheets will REV-Lani and REVIVAL finish?

Defense

CB: REV-Piggy, REV-Yuri, REV-Rey

Some say he is too good to play striker and is forced to play center-back, some say he is the reason we can watch football in The Netherlands, all we know he is called REV-Piggy. Even though not always playing, it is understandable why REVIVAL is so eager to keep him as a first choice. While playing, REVIVAL has barely conceded any goals. As well they did this week. Three matches and an equal amount of clean sheets, the maximum result for the center-back.

An unusual week only exists on the redaction if REV-Yuri has not made it into the TOTW. This week was like no other. Four matches, four clean sheets. It is the usual stuff for the Dutch giant (who is not that tall in real life). Having broken the record for most clean sheets in both one season and all time, REV-Yuri is a true INT1 league-legend. Now with most of the “direct rivals'' (who’re still eight points or more behind), the road to yet another league title is open. ObstruXion, Magic Storm e-Sports, Stade Poitevin FC by orKs GP (just copying this atrocity of a name, not even considering typing it), and Ragnrarök FC were all beaten without conceding.

To fulfill the prophecy of the REVIVAL defense, the trio is topped off with REV-Rey (who is better than the Rey Skywalker, I am sure). Just like many other REVIVAL players, REV-Rey has experience in both the INT1 league and the German 1 Liga. This experience comes forward every week. After the four clean sheets over Stade Poitevin FC by orKs GP (the length of this name should be illegal), Magic Storm E-Sports, Ragnarök FC, and ObstruXion and the outstanding performances in these matches, the battle for a TOTS spot is still on.

Midfield

CDM: REV-Olli, REV-PietHeyn

He might be Belgian, but REV-Olli seems to be an unstoppable force in midfield. The former-Legacy player and winger is sitting comfortably on his CDM spot. With another four clean sheets added to his list, he is this season’s number one defensive midfielder (Moyal excluded since he played matches as a center-back) and shared first on the list with the most clean sheets this season. Not just that, against Stade Poitevin FC by orKs GP (copy + paste) he was by far the best player, earning himself his first MVP of this season in INT1 League. Because of these outstanding performances, REVIVAL has now increased the gap to eight points to Las Estrellas.

REVIVAL-manager, legend, and co-founder, REV-PietHeyn is a well-known name in this community. Not just because he is the undisputed leader of the all-time best INT1 League club, but as well for his versatility. Wrecking opponents on the central defensive midfielder position seems to be the most fitting thing he does. Playing three games this week and not conceding a single goal made REVIVAL walk away ever further from the other clubs.

CM: Venga-JinTaent,

Finally, the REVIVAL-reign will be broken in this TOTW. Venga-JinTaent may be struggling this season in the INT1 League, for him personally it has been an amazing week. Giving two assists from midfield in the crucial match against Juventus Bucuresti, meant a 3-2 win and steering away from the ever so feared relegation zone.

CAM: ABAZ1K

The Armenian architect has proven himself to be a VengaVenga worthy playmaker. In the matches played this week, he was involved in two goals and won himself an MVP in the win over Juventus Bucuresti (3-2), in which as well assisted the 1-0 and scored the 2-1. With these three points, ABAZ1K and VengaVenga will be able to look up the table.

Strikers

RW: RAG-Darius

He is this week’s savior for Ragnarök FC’s. The Italian forward, RAG-Darius carried his team through the match against ObstruXion, scoring two and all goals, as well gaining an MVP title; scoring the winning goal against Stade Poitevin FC by orKs GP (there should be a limit on the length of names) in which he gained himself yet another MVP title. Those six points mean the gap with ObstruXion is now brought back to just two points, while Stade Poitevin FC by orKs GP has now been overtaken by, again, two points, pushing the side up into sixth place.

RS: REV-AzZsX

Wherever REV-AzZsX plays, he scores. The England international and Champions League-winner is at the top of the top scorers-table due to the winning goal against league-rivals ObstruXion, in which he also earned an MVP title, followed by the assist on the only and winning goal over Ragnarök FC. And the following match scoring once again the only and winning goal over the club with a criminally long name I refuse to write anymore. Those points gained more or less secured REVIVAL their fifth league title.

LS: JUV-Cristiano

Naming yourself after a mediocre Roda JC striker does not make you a great player. However, JUV-Cristiano proves himself to be worthy of carrying the name. His team, who had a struggling start this season, has climbed themselves up the ladder, back into a Europa League spot. Three of those important points were gained due to two goals in the 3-2 win over Promising. The MVP earned in this match, just as the other goal in the 3-2 loss over Venga Venga FC, almost feels like a bonus. In the end, it just shows JUV-Cristiano still has not lost it and is capable of carrying a team through the season.
