The game was mostly played in our half, we sat deep and absorbed pressure, possession stats were almost equal though. We set out to first absorb and then keep the ball and play it safely out and still try to retain possession even though we had a massive depletion of people at the back and in GK. Eventually, and after a long spell of good defensive work as a unit and covering for each other to hopefully keep threat at bay and cautious attempts at attacks that had been cut out prematurely because we couldn't commit too many numbers, we cracked and conceded. The instruction that came after was to go all-out and try to press aggressively and commit offensively to force and error. After a foul came, late into the last 10 mins of the game, the initial delivery was cleared and in a moment of instinct there was a call from myself from the bot CB to pass it to me, I turned around with a touch and blasted it top corner. Equalized through a bit of luck but also guile and instinct and gambling on offense in the last 15 minutes. Fantastic battle between the teams, I enjoyed playing it.
